WASPS
Nests should never be approached by unprotected people.
A wasp nest can contain many thousands of individuals, and each wasp can sting many times in a few seconds. Some people are allergic to wasp sting and even one sting can cause a large amount of stress and in some cases even death. Wasps will attack in large numbers if the nest is threatened, it is not recommended to try to deal with them yourself. From June onwards a wasps nest can increase in size very fast and as the autumn approaches the wasps get nastier.
ANTS
Most ant problems we deal with are the black or garden ant, these are commonly found throughout the UK. We can deal with any ant problem and any kind of ant. The main problem with ants is when they invade the house searching for sweet foods to take back to the nest, and when nest is matured many thousands of flying ants can leave to make new homes sometimes filling the house with large queen ants and the smaller flying males.
BED BUGS
These nasty little blood suckers are becoming more of a problem in the UK.
Not only in house hold environments but hotels and motels and other such places are having major problems and if left un-detected is aiding the spread of Bed bugs as they hitch a ride in clothing and cases. Serious infestations can result in bed and furnishing having to be destroyed, we can put into place monitoring devices to warn against these pests.
COCKROACHES
These pests are a great hazard in the food industry, but luckily with new techniques are easier to control than in the past. They can spread diseases such as dysentery, gastroenteritis, typhoid and salmonella, they can also produce a bad smell where there are numbers of cockroaches.
Being nocturnal by nature these pests are hard to detect until there is a real problem.
FLEAS
Most flea problems arise when dogs and cats are present, but sometimes fleas can breed and survive taking human blood, bites and itchy spots on the lower legs, also small specks of brown appearing to jump in the carpet where they breed.
FLIES
One of the main flies found in the domestic environment is the cluster fly, these flies over winter in lofts and cavity walls, often in their thousands and when they get warm tend to head for light often gaining access to the living quarters. Commercial clients are more likely to need help with blue bottle type flies and we have a vast range of light traps to aid in the control of these pests.
